I always loved this song and associated it with good times in my life. Unfortunately, if assholes could fly, my life would be an airport right now.

Yeah, if only. The only thing is we know that the ideals expressed in this simple lyric are unrealistic. Sure, there are some who get to live that dream, but there are others of us who find out - the hard way - that this just isn't in the cards. For whatever reason.
It takes a lot of effort to suck it up and move forward; live life and all. But it's all we've got. Whatever time we have left is all we've got. My goal is to make the best of it. Sure, there are down days you can't evade, avoid or stop. But then there's tomorrow and a promise to live life fully.

I really like this song.
But, even back in the days of the Turtles, I wondered about the line, "I can't see me loving nobody but you."
That is a double negative. Which means that each negative cancels the other out.
Thus translated, it would be "I can see me loving everybody but you."
Which, of course, is not what the song means to say. At least, I don't think it does. If it does, it shouldn't. So, anyway, on that note...
